1. Playa del Inglés

We couldn't start this ranking without mentioning one of the best-known beaches in the south of Gran Canaria.

Playa del Inglés is the emblem as far as beaches are concerned. It’s a place where you can spend a great day at the beach with family and friends or enjoy the best water sports.

With its almost 3 kilometres long and 100 kilometres wide, it’s an ideal beach for strolling and discovering natural wonders such as the Maspalomas Dunes and the brackish lagoon La Charca de Maspalomas.

2. Playa de Mogán

Playa de Mogán is located between the canals and bridges of the little Venice of the Canary Islands, as they call Mogán. It’s one of the best beaches to go with children, as the waves are very low, thanks to the protection of its rocky seawall.

It’s a small and very clean beach, about 200 metres long, with white sand and crystal clear waters

For the more adventurous, there are daily boat trips and diving excursions from the port.

3. Pasito Blanco

One of the most unknown beaches for the tourists who come to Gran Canaria. Pasito Blanco is a small marina, which is surrounded by luxury villas and houses. It has a small but cosy beach.

From here, you can enjoy views of the Maspalomas Lighthouse and take a dip in the water. Afterwards, you can take a short walk and discover its small port.

4. Patalavaca

Straddling Pasito Blanco and Anfi beach you can find one of the most popular beaches in the municipality of Mogán: Patalavaca.

Located in the district of Arguineguín, Patalavaca is a small and cosy beach with golden sand. It’s ideal for a day out with family or friends on a different kind of beach.

5. Playa de Meloneras

We finish this post with another of the most outstanding beaches in the south of Gran Canaria: Meloneras.

With half a kilometre of golden sand, it’s a quiet family beach, even more than its neighbours Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés. But be careful! Unlike the others, its seabed may contain stones.

To complete your day at the beach, you can stroll along the promenade, full of restaurants, cafés, shops, etc.
